Even if you are a skilled musician, you can still make your work much easier with a computer and the right software. When it comes to writing music, MagicScore Maestro is more than the right software. The main advantage is that it offers everything you need to compose music. Any notation you make on a piece of paper can be made with this application. If you make a mistake, you may correct it immediately, without crumpling and throwing away the paper.

MagicScore Maestro's installation package is almost 15 MB, which should not be a problem for a modern day Internet connection. The software can be installed on any Windows platform, from Win 98 to Win 7 and it is not too demanding when it comes to system requirements.

At a first glance, MagicScore Maestro is similar to a word processor, but its functionality is different. Instead of a blank paper, you will work on musical staves, on which you can add any notes, from whole notes to hundred twenty-eighth notes, note rests, intervals and any other symbol. They are categorized, on separate tabs, in the lower region of the interface. You just need to access the appropriate tab and click the symbol you want and the software will insert it immediately.

There are alternative ways of writing music, which could make your job easier. You can find a virtual piano keyboard and use it to insert notes, by clicking its keys. You may click different parts of a single key to insert anything, from half notes to hundred twenty-eighth notes. A guitar's griff is available as well and it works in a similar fashion. Another way of composing music is to plug a MIDI keyboard into your computer and record in real time. While using a MIDI keyboard, MagicScore Maestro will recognize any data, including note velocity, duration and more.

Inserted symbols can be modified with click and drag actions. For example, if you want to make a note higher or lower, you can drag it upwards or downwards on the stave. Another useful feature is the possibility of playing your composition or recording it as MIDI. The playback controls are located on the software's toolbar and you can start playing from any position you want. When your composition is complete, you can save it as an image file, a PDF document or export it as an audio file, in WAV or MP3 format.

Pros

MagicScore Maestro has many advantages. You can use any musical symbol to compose on your computer. It is possible to use a virtual piano keyboard, guitar griff or to plug in a MIDI keyboard and record in real time. The software lets you save your composition as an image, a PDF document or as an audio file.

Cons

You will encounter a few restrictions while using the software's trial version. Composing music can not get easier, thanks to MagicScore Maestro's capabilities. It provides you with everything you need to compose your music like a professional.
